Inland Waterways Festival 2006

Published: 02 August 2006

Come and join us at the Inland Waterways National Festival & Boat Show 60th Anniversary on 26th, 27th and 28th August 2006 at Beale Park, Pangbourne on the River Thames.

Freeman at the IWA Festival

We shall be having a stand in the boat show (G2) and a Freeman Club get-together on the Sunday evening. We will be meeting in the main bar for any members who wish to join us for a drink.

You will need to purchase the evening stay arm band (available from the Freeman Stand) which allows you to stay for the additional attractions, including the illuminated boat pagent (scheduled on Sunday evening).

We will not be displaying specific Freeman items on the stand, the Freeman shop however will be open at Sheridan Boatyard which is close by.

Come and visit us on stand G2.

Something for Everyone

Featuring Free Boat Rides, Historic Boats, a fantastic Trade Show with over 200 exhibitors. Not forgetting the 40+ real ales which will be available together with a wide choice of food. There really is something for everyone, including a classic motor vehicle display, medieval jousting in the arena, craft workshops, boat rides and a full programme of events for children.

For the Children

WOW (Wild Over Waterways) activities for children will be taking place over the weekend. They can learn about wooden boat building, plate painting, horse boating, knot tying, First Aid, restoring waterways, brass rubbing and many other waterway activities.

For just £1, children receive a Passport which they take to FREE activity points around the Festival site. Each time they take part in an activity they will receive a sticker on their Passport and when they have finished, they can claim a small prize. Parents can join in too if they wish. The Circus skills workshops, Punch & Judy and balloon modelling will also ensure that the youngest members of the family are fully entertained.
