Emergency Spares - What should I carry?
The very basic spares to carry consist of a spare impeller and an alternator drive belt (fan belt). These can go at any time without warning, so if you have a spare on board they can easily and quickly be changed by yourself or at least another competent boat owner. Rather than having to call boatyard services out on a late Sunday afternoon!
Only undertake service work that you are able to manage. If you unsure always seek assistance from a reputable boatyard or engineer, particularly where the fuel system is concerned.
